What Year Was The Television Invented

What year was the television invented? The cathode ray tube that was used exclusively until the 1990s for television was invented in 1897 by Karl Braun in Germany. In 1884, Paul Nipkow developed a rotating-disc technology capable of transmitting pictures over a wire and called it the Nipkow disk. This was the very first electro mechanical image-scanning device and was used to transmit television until the invention of the first electronic transmission device. Any idea what year was the television invented yet?

In 1926, John Logie Baird broadcast the first transatlantic pictures using a mechanical device based on Nipkows system. Later Baird also developed the first color picture tube. He also started the British Broadcasting Company (BBC). Meanwhile, in the US, Charles Francis Jenkins invented a mechanical television system called radiovision. Jenkins claimed to have transmitted the earliest moving silhouette images in 1923. But, it wasnt as clear as Bairds transmission. So, what year was the television invented yet?

Other inventors realized the mechanical scanning devices were limited and had little room for much more improvement and they began to concentrate on using the cathode ray tubes idea of controlling electron beams to develop and electronic scanning device that could copy and transmit images. In 1925, Vladimir Zworykin invented the iconoscope, which was a primitive television camera and in 1929, he invented a cathode-ray tube called the kinescope that could be used to transmit TV images. In 1927, Philo Farnsworth invented an electron beams scanning device that could read pictures when the beams current was varied as it played over the image. He also built a transmitter and receiving device based on the radio equipment of the time and successfully transmitted moving pictures in 1927. Has an answer to what year was the television invented yet?

Its hard to put an exact date what year was the television invented. One reason is because it is a very complex process. No one invention could make it possible. It took several inventors many years to develop working systems. Braun created the basic component, an electronic tube that could display images. Nipkow, developed the first image scanning device. Marconi and others developed the transmitting and receiving equipment for transmission. Farnsworth invented an electronic scanning device and Zworkin invented the camera and other elements needed for recording the images. So what year was the television invented? I think its fair to say television was invented in the decade of the 1920s.
